Please
use FIX A LEAK as directed by the instructions on the product
package.
Here
are some additional, helpful hints and advice:
Spas or Hot Tubs Directions:
use the 8-OUNCE Bottle, as directed. (SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING)
-
Bypass filter before
adding FIX-A-LEAK to the water. In most cases, simply remove the
filter cartridge.
-
With pump running, add
FIX-A-LEAK slowly through skimmer or in front of any other
suction intake.
-
FIX-A-LEAK
is very heavy and will sink to the lowest point rather quickly. It must
be stirred back into suspension every 4-6 hours during the circulation
of water. Use a brush to stir up the spa or hot tub floor.
-
Continue to recirculate
water until the leak has stopped.
-
After
the leak has stopped and given the proper time to cure (24-72 hours),
you may return to normal filtration. As Fix A Leak seeps out, it
forms a crust, which must be allowed to dry, harden and cure, to form a
long lasting seal. Treatment may be repeated if necessary.
Swimming Pools Directions:
use the 32 OUNCE Bottle, as directed. (SHAKE WELL BEFORE USING)
-
Bypass filter before adding FIX-A-LEAK to the
water. Sand filters: set the filter to recirculate. Cartridge filters
remove the filter cartridge. D.E. Filters, remove the D.E. elements
from the filter tank, then proceed to circulate through empty tank. If
the multiport valve has a recirculate setting, use that method, instead.
-
With pump running, add FIX-A-LEAK slowly through
skimmer or in front of any other suction intake.
-
After adding FIX-A-Leak, adjust suction to main
drain. If not possible, a pool vacuum can be used, alternatively,
simply by placing hooked up vacuum, in the center of the pool. The
filter must be set up to recirculate.
-
FIX-A-LEAK
is very heavy and will sink to the lowest point rather quickly. It must
be stirred back into suspension either manually by using a pool broom or
mechanically with an automated pool cleaner (without a filter bag) every
4-6 hours during the circulation of water.
-
Continue to recirculate water until the leak has stopped.
-
After the leak has stopped and given the proper time to
cure (24-72 hours), you may return to normal filtration. As Fix A
Leak seeps out it forms a crust, which must be allowed to dry,
harden and cure, to form a long lasting seal. Treatment can be repeated
if necessary.
Suction Line Leaks:
return flow will be
aerated. To get water to leak out, instead of sucking air in, the lines
going to the pump must be reversed. This has to be done manually, as there
is no equipment setting, to do this flow reversal.
Filter Resumption:
after the leak has been sealed and cured, resume normal
filtration. Clean, rinse or backwash the filter a few times, over the next
two days, making sure no part dries out, without a complete rinsing. Adjust
water chemistry.
